After a brief intermission, Bluesfest came back swinging with hard-hitting sets from Sean Paul, Kardinal Offishall, Funk Yo Self, Deff Leppard, LILYISTHATYOU, and more.
The multi-award-winning Jamaican-Canadian artist Kardinal Offishall, known for his reggae and dancehall-influenced hip-hop, hit the RBC Stage tonight, bringing strong beats and vibrant energy. He kept the crowd fired up throughout his set, performing “Dangerous,” the track that made him break into the Billboard Hot 100. He brought out Solitair and DJ Agile, with a surprise guest appearance from Karl Wolf, turning the set into a powerful nod to Canadian roots.
Following Kardinal Offishall’s high-energy set, Sean Paul kept the momentum alive with his long-awaited return to Bluesfest, 17 years after his last appearance. The Jamaican artist lit up the stage with crowd favourites like “Temperature” and “Get Busy,” along with his latest single, “Ginger,” and the Tuff Remix of “Shake It To The Max” featuring MOLIY and Silent Addy, which had everyone singing and dancing along. Joined by a talented live band, dancers, Farenizzi, and his official DJ, Coppershaun, the performance was a lively continuation of the night’s celebration of Caribbean sound and global influence.
