“Event Photography 101: Capturing Culture & Music,” was a virtual workshop designed for emerging photographers looking to enter the event and party photography scenes. We learned how to document stories that celebrate music, movement, and community. We dove into navigating event spaces, working across diverse environments, industry professionalism, and building a strong personal brand. This workshop gave us the tools to capture the spirit and energy of the culture through our lens.

Alicia Reid is a Toronto-based photographer and documentarian from Scarborough, capturing authentic moments that celebrate culture, community, and music. With a journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University and experience in videography, post-production, and creative marketing, her work blends storytelling with visual artistry. Alicia’s photography spans festivals, concerts, and community events, with a focus on Toronto’s vibrant Caribbean and Black cultural scenes, turning everyday moments into compelling visual narratives.
